Banska Stiavnica  Banska Stiavnica offers a few interesting sights such as the Old Castle, which was once was a church complex, and the Romanesque Rotunda of St Michael located on the rock of Mount Paradajz; the New Castle, the Church of St Catherine from 15th century; the former Dominican church with the remains of a monastery, the Church of the Virgin Mary of the Snows from 16th century, The town Hall from 16th century, Calvary and the town fortifications. Another attraction is the Stiavnice Lakes situated close to the town which form a chain of 28 artificial reservoirs. The whole complex, together with the town itself, is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
